The Arctic Development Expo 2025 returns to Inuvik this June, inviting communities, businesses, innovators, and government partners from across the North for three days of connection, discovery, and collaboration. At its core, the Expo focuses on how innovation and resilience can guide the Western Arctic through changing times.
This year’s event offers a program of panel discussions, exhibits, and demonstrations designed to spark ideas and amplify local capacity. Attendees will explore how digital tools, infrastructure, and technology-driven solutions can support sustainable growth across Arctic communities.
One of the central sessions at the Expo, “Cybersecurity on the Arctic Frontlines,” will bring together experts to examine how remote communities can protect their systems and networks in a globally connected era. Topics include emerging cyber threats, community-based defense strategies, and the importance of building local technical capacity.
Among the speakers is Robert Privett, CEO of Webhorse Technologies, a cybersecurity and tech services provider in Inuvik. With decades of experience in supporting Northern digital infrastructure, Privett will emphasize how communities themselves must become the first line of defense in a rapidly evolving cyber landscape.
Expo visitors can look forward to showcases of Northern-led innovations and hands-on technology demonstrations. Exhibitors will showcase projects in sectors such as smart infrastructure, renewable energy, communications, and regional services — each designed with Arctic conditions and community needs in mind.
The event also aims to provide learning opportunities, with displays that invite participation and engagement. Whether through interactive models, technology showcases, or community-driven demonstrations, the Expo will highlight how local ideas and broader trends converge in the North.
The Arctic Development Expo 2025 is an opportunity to learn, connect, and help shape the future of the Western Arctic. Whether you are a business owner, student, community leader, or simply curious about what’s next, the Expo offers meaningful access to innovators, decision-makers, and initiatives already at work in the North.
