Jàk Territorial Park is a popular seasonal campground and nature destination located just outside Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Operated by the GNWT Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment, the park provides visitors and residents with access to camping, hiking, and scenic views of the Mackenzie Delta. Just minutes from town, Jàk Park is a convenient and peaceful retreat into the Northern wilderness.

Featuring basic campsites, picnic shelters, and interpretive signage, the park offers a family-friendly environment for enjoying the land, spotting wildlife, or relaxing under the midnight sun. It's a gateway to outdoor adventure and local culture, situated on traditional Inuvialuit and Gwich’in territory.

  • Notable amenities: 24/7 on site security, a select number of 30/15amp electrical sites, showers, potable water, and waste removal. Firewood is for sale from the Campground attendant.

Plan Your Visit

  • Jàk Territorial Park is located at the end of the Dempster highway, three kilometers prior to the Town of Inuvik. The park is open seasonally from the Victoria Day weekend in May to the Labour Day weekend in September.
  • Park use is not free; campsites are currently $30.00 per night for unpowered and $35.00 per night for powered (prices include GST).
  • The park and facilities are serviced by a campground attendant/operator.
  • The Park is reservable in advance on our reservation system available at: https://nwtparks.goingtocamp.com/. Otherwise, it is first come, first serve.
